2020-2021 Curling Season
October 26, 2020 update
The Stettler Curling Club has been fortunate enough to receive a grant which will enable us to make significant upgrades to our ice plant. Due to the unreliability of the plant in its current state and the time required to make these improvements, there is no longer any chance that the club could still open in January. The Stettler Curling Club will therefore be closed for the entire 2020-2021 curling season. We hope to see you next year!
October 5, 2020 Update
September 28, 2020 Update
Due to a projected increase in expenses and decrease in membership this year, the board has made the difficult decision to close the club for the fall of 2020. The board will meet again on November 23, 2020 to reassess and consider the possibility of opening in January. If you are interested in curling after the new year, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If anyone is requiring their curling equipment from the Stettler rink, please call or text Gail at 403-740-6790, and she will meet you there to open the door.
September 9, 2020 Update
In order to determine if it is feasible to open the rink this season, we are trying to get an estimate of how many people are committed to curling this year. If you have been a member in recent years, you will likely be contacted to see if you are planning to return this year. If you would like to become a new member, please let us know.
For more information about the changes that would be necessary this year, please refer to the Curling Canada Return to Play Guidelines which can be found on the Curling Canada or Curling Alberta websites.
The Stettler Curling Club is welcoming any ideas or opinions you may have about reopening this season. Anyone interested is also welcome to attend the General Meeting at 7:00pm on September 28.
2019-2020 Curling Season
The Stettler Curling Club would like to thank the community for their support throughout the past season. Through many different ways of sponsorships, bonspiels, donations and advertising our local community and people have helped keep our club going. The board would like to thank Jamie for his wonderful ice making and running of the curling club over the past year. We would also like to thank Suzanne and Steven for running our lounge and concession. Also, to Wanda and her crew who had a wonderful junior curling program for the year. We also need to thank all the members of our leagues that help keep the club going.
Hope to see everyone back next season.
